Cyprus
One of the Mediterranean's most popular tourist destinations and its third largest island, Cyprus is located just to the south of Turkey and welcomes around 2.4 million holiday makers each year. Cyprus has been an independent Republic since 1960 and they joined the EU in May 2004.
Depending on where you choose to go in Cyprus will influence the experience you have there, if you choose to head to the quieter and more traditional areas, such as Akamas Peninsula where you can discover its small villages or you can lie on the golden beaches of Karpas.
On the other hand you could choose to stay in Agia Napa an increasingly popular destination for holiday makers. Where Cypriots will tell you that Agia Napa use to be a small quiet fishing village with very little there but a few house and some fishermen, if you went stay there now it wont seem further from the truth. It is now one of the most tourist loved destinations with it fully catering for the British tourist, having a series of bars and nightclubs which are all part of an extremely busy nightlife. People tend to go there to party hard, recover in the sun and then do it all again at night! For this reason many Cypriots believe that the development in Agia Napa has 'sold the countries soul', on the other hand many believe that it has done the country good as it brings in huge amounts of money with its masses of tourism.
Either way you can decide the holiday of your choice in Cyprus as it has it all to offer!
